Theme: Our theme this week is dinosaurs

  • Read Terrible Tyrannosaurs then students will build their own dinosaur with marshmallows and toothpicks

  • Read Dinosaurs are Different and learn about carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores

  • Read What Happened to the Dinosaurs and complete a dinosaur glyph

  • Read Dinosaur Babies and compare our teeth to dinosaur teeth

  • Pretend to be a Paleontologist and dig for chocolate chips in cookies, then compare the number actually in the cookie to the number predicted before


  • Listen to many fiction books about dinosaurs/with dinosaur characters before writing

  • Independent Journals

  • I Dreamed About a Dinosaur!

  • Dinosaur Sequencing and writing

  • Our phonics lessons this week will focus on short /o/ in the middle of cvc words, homophones, homonyms, and chopping out cvc words

  • There will be no more homework this school year. Continue to read 20 minutes a night and practice sight words, numbers, and writing.

  • Wish List: glue sticks, gallon size ziplock bags, disinfectant wipes.

  • We will have a University of Chicago Senior Volunteer Event on Tuesday morning where the volunteers will teach us a lesson about cooking/nutrition.

  • The last day of school is Monday, June 24 and it is a full day. There will be an all school picnic that day! More details to come.
