Ms. Maltz

The students completed some Thanksgiving projects during the short week. For one, they used their handprint to make the Mayflower then wrote the one thing they would bring with them on the Mayflower.

On Wednesday, the students picked four things they were thankful for and wrote them on “turkey feathers.” Some things the students were thankful for, were: teachers, family, friends, video games, iPads, toys, baby brothers and sisters, food, and clothes to name a few.

The students made pilgrim faces at art center over the last week. There were many steps to the project and the students did amazingly. Check it out:

Ms. Maltz

The students of Room 104 truly had a superstar day today. They produced great work, were focused, and on task. I was very impressed with how the students grasped the concept of a Venn Diagram so quickly. After reading a book about a girl living in a pilgrim village, we compared and contrasted that time to ours.

They asked great questions while reading about the pilgrim children and were shocked by the amount of work pilgrim children had to do just to eat. I think it maybe made them like school a little more!

Tomorrow is a half day. The students will be dismissed on the south playground at 12:15. We will be having lunch so please send a home lunch or money if you pay for school lunch.

There is no school on Monday, November 12th.

I have sent home report card pick up confirmation times. Please email me if you did not get your confirmation or lost the time. I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.

The students did such a great job with the Junior Achievement volunteers today! I truly believe the volunteers were sad to go. The students were so well behaved and the volunteers kept on commenting on how smart they were!

The older students are collecting canned food for a local food pantry. Please consider donating canned food for the cause. There is a box in our classroom where the students could drop off the donations.

After Brain Boost this afternoon, the students had a wonderful time collecting leaves from the playground. We let them dry then created leaf rubbings. I think their favorite part was taking the paper off the crayons! The lovely product is up in the classroom, but you can see some below:

Thank you to everyone who has already turned in their Report Card Pick-Up Time request. I have gotten 21 of the 24 back! Confirmations have been sent home in you child’s red folder.
